[13288] Lydia is daughter of Johann Conrad Schmidt and Catherine Geier. The 13 June 1900 federal census in Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE lists the family: John C. Schmidt (age 26, a car repairer, born in Russia of Russian [German] parents; John emigrated to the United States in 1892), Kate (wife, age 27, born in Russia of Russian [German] parents; emigrated to the United States in 1892), and children Lydia and John (both b. in NE). "Lincoln Journal Star [Lincoln, Nebraska], 8 October 1980," p. 41: "Kyle, Lydia S., 83, 2118 Smith St., died Tuesday. Retired legal secretary. Member Axis Club, Unitarian Church. Charter member and past president Cornhusker Chapter, NSA. Survivors: brother, Lewis Trout, Moses Lake, Wash.; sisters, Mrs. J. H. (Katharine) MacGregor, San Francisco, Mrs. O. K. (Marie) Perrin, Lincoln; nieces; nephews."
