He was born in Brooks, Aug. 31, 1910, the son of John and Lenora (Thompson) Hutchins. He was a member of Local No. 320, Pipe Fitters Union, and constructed and operated Hutchins Mobile Home Park of Brewer until his retirement. He was a member of the Masons and Consistory of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites, Corner Stone Lodge of Portland, joining in 1945. He obtained his 32nd Degree in 1966 and became a noble of the Mystic Shrine, Anah Temple of Bangor. He received his 40-year membership pin in 1985. Mr. Hutchins had attended Twin City Baptist Church of Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Annie (Wallace) Hutchins of East Holden; one daughter, Judith D. Burns of Lamoine; one son, Ernest E. Hutchins, Jr. of Brewer; one sister; Alice Reynolds of Monroe; three grandchildren, Deborah D. Burns of Ellsworth, Cheryl A. Burns of Lamoine and John E. Hutchins of Orrington; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Kiley-Birmingham Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, with the Rev. Robert Treadwell officiating. Interment will be in Harts Corner Cemetery, East Holden."

She had three children by the time she was 24. She died as a young mother in 1735 in Südliche Weinstraße, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at the age of 28."
