[48626] Find A Grave memorial 102282950 offers: "Enlisted in Company K, 16th Infantry Regiment Maine on 14 August 1862. Wounded on 13 December 1862 at Fredericksburg, VA. Wounded on 13 August 1864 at Weldon Railroad, VA. Discharged because of wounds Company K, 16th Infantry Regiment Maine on 30 August 1864. As a result of wound his leg was amputated later. His service record at the Maine State Archives shows he was in the Co. Hospital on 24 August 1862. He joined the Grand Army of the Republic James A. Garfield Post 46, Blue Hill, Maine."

He married, secondly, Margaret Brent, daughter of William Brent and Anne Rosmoderes, before 21 December 1495. He married, thirdly, Lady Mary Stafford, daughter of Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Lady Eleanor Percy, circa June 1519. He married, fourthly, Mary Brooke after 1520. He died circa 1535. He was buried at Birling, Kent, England, although his heart was buried at Mereworth. His will (dated 4 June 1535) was probated on 24 January 1535/36. . . .He fought in the Battle of Blackheath on 17 June 1497, against the Cornish Rebels. He held the office of Constable of Dover Castle. He held the office of Chief Larderer at the coronation of King Henry VIII in 1509. On 18 December 1512 King Henry VIII granted him the castle and lands of Abergavenny. He held the office of Warden of the Cinque Ports in 1513. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 23 April 1513. He held the office of Keeper of Ashdown Forest in 1515. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1516. From 1521 to 1522 he was imprisoned on suspicion of conspiring with his father-in-law, the Duke of Buckingham. He held the office of Chief Larderer at the coronation of Anne Boleyn in 1533."
