[4982] Find A Grave Memorial 68850528 offers: "Daughter of Richard de Morville, Lord of Lauderdale and Cunningham and Avice de Lancaster. Granddaughter of Hugh de Morville and Beatrice de Beauchamp, William de Lancaster, Baron of Kendal and Gundred de Warenne, the daughter of the 2nd Earl of Surrey. Sis and heir to William de Morville, Lord of Lauderdale and Cunningham, Constable of Scotland. Helen was the wife of Roland FitzUhtred, Lord Galloway or Lochlann of Galloway, the son of Uchtred and grandson of Fergus. . . . Her son, Alan, inherited the position of Constable of Scotland and massive holdings in Scotland, becoming the most powerful magnate in Scotland. Helen's Moreville family was supposedly related to the murderers of Saint Thomas of Canterbury, possibly offering an explanation for the remarkable religious contributions made by the family."

"The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 3 February 2015": "Penobscot - Carolyn Blodgett, a well-loved mom, Nannie, great-Nannie and friend, died on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and wrapped in the warmth of the love and good wishes expressed by her many, many friends. Carolyn was born at the Mitchell House in Penobscot, Maine, on Jan. 17, 1928, the daughter of Merle J. and Marie (Mitchell) Leach. After Merles death in 1930, Marie married Carl Bridges, who became Carolyns loving stepfather. Carolyn spent her early years in Penobscot and fondly recalled the many adventures and fun times she had with the gang from 'the cove.' She started high school in Gorham, but returned to Penobscot to graduate from Clark High School in 1945. She went on to attend Gorham Teachers College, leaving after two years to marry the man who had earlier caught her eye during a baseball game between the rival Penobscot and Brooksville teams, Donald Blodgett, who was the pitcher for the Brooksville team. They were married on June 22, 1947, at the South Penobscot Baptist Church. They raised their family of five children living 'over the store' - Blodgetts General Store - a business they owned and operated for many years. As her children grew, Carolyn went back to college to finish her degree, attending the University of Maine at Orono. She commuted from Penobscot to Orono in all types of weather to complete her bachelors degree in 1969, one year before her oldest son, Michael, was born. She continued her education by earning her masters degree, majoring in reading and special education. Carolyn taught for many years at Brooksville Elementary School, retiring in 1987. After her retirement, Carolyn remained active by volunteering her time at the Penobscot Nursing Home and the Penobscot Elementary School. Throughout her life, Carolyn was a civic-minded and involved woman. She was an active member and 'muffin baker' at the Penobscot Methodist Church; member and past president of the Hancock County Retired Teachers; member and past Master of the Castine Grange; member of the Hancock County Pomona Grange; past secretary of the Retired Merchant Marine Association of Maine; past matron and 65-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star; member and docent of the Penobscot Historical Society; and a member of the Maine and National Education Associations.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Edith Leach, of Connecticut; children Michael and wife, Anna, of Augusta; Jerry and wife, Deborah, of Topsham; Donald of Scarborough; Alden and partner, Kathy Billings, of Penobscot; and Jackie and husband, Robert Curtis, of Blue Hill; grandchildren Todd, Megan and husband, Mark Garand; Jenny and partner, Jameson Hobbs; Matthew, Chandler and wife, Katie; Annmarie, and Andrea; and great-grandchildren Maeve, Maya, and Kayleigh. She also has many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends throughout the United States. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Donald, her parents, her brother, Alan Bridges, her daughter-in-law, Leigh, and a special cousin, Kay Mitchell."

[1573] {Ernst-Friedrich Kraentzler, op. cit., p. 64, gives Gertrude's mother as Eilica Babenburg von Schweinfurt (1000-1055). "Ancestral Roots..." (Balt., 1992) 164-23 reports Gertrude as "widow of Florent I, Count of Holland, daughter of Bernard II." If Eilica Babenburg is her mother - Eilicia is dau. of Henry von Schweinfurt (d. Sept. 17, 1017) and Gerberge of Henneberg - Henry is son of Berthold von Babenberg (d. Sept. 15, 980) and Eiliswinta von Walbeck (d.
