Montes-Bradley states at http://www.bradleyfoundation.org that she is Genvissa (Venus Julia) and "married Arviragus , King of Siluria son of Cynvelin (Cimbelline) , King of the Britons in AD 45." He further states in a note: "At the end of that winter (c. 45 AD) the messengers returned with Claudius' daughter and handed her over to her father. The girls name was Genvissa. Her beauty was such that everyone who saw her filled with admiration. Once she had been united to him (Arvirargus) in lawful marriage, she inflamed the King with with such burning passion that he preferred her company to anything else in the world. As a result of this Arvirargus made up his mind to give some special mark of distinction to the place were he married her. He suggested to Claudius that the two of them should found there a city which should perpetuate in times to come the memory of so happy a marriage. Claudius agreed and ordered a town to be built wich should be called Kaerglou or Gloucester. Down to our own day (abt 1100) it retains its site on the bank of the Severn, between Wales and Loegria. Some, however, say that it took its name from Duke Gloius, whom Claudius fathered in that city and to whom he granted control of the duchy of the Welsh after Arvirargus. (Geoffrey of Monmouth)"

Gray and Grace (Dowling) Gray Pendleton, passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2021, at the age of 92. He spent his childhood in Jacksonville, East Machias, Maine. He attended the Jacksonville Methodist Church and summer camp meetings on Gardner Lake. His family moved to Corinna before settling down at Hermon Corner in 1944. He graduated from Hermon High School and spent 1 year at UMO. He joined the U.S. Army towards the end of the Korean War leaving as a corporal. He then resumed employment at Swift Premium Co. for a total of 28 years. He was employed by the Malley Detective Agency then Hall Security at the Costigan mill. He retired in 1991. He married Rosanne Pendleton in 1953. They were married for 63 years until her death in 2016. Early in their marriage Ken and Rosy were members of the Hermon Baptist Church. They enjoyed square dancing, as members of the 'Swinging Hicks and Chicks' where his brother-in-law, Bruce was the caller. He was proud to be a volunteer with the Hermon Fire Dept. Ken and Rosanne had many happy trips around the United States in their camper visiting family and seeing the sights along the way. He was a long term member of the American Legion (Arnold R. Kelley Post 200). He happily volunteered for many years at Ecotat Gardens, where a building was dedicated to him. He enjoyed playing cribbage and eating out with the Hermon Senior Citizens. He was happy to socialize and share his quiet sense of humor. Ken was predeceased by his parents; and stepmother, Phyllis Gray; his beloved wife, Rosanne; and 2 sisters: Teresa Charlene (Gray) Norman and husband, Bill, and Gwendolyn (Gray) Trenholm and husband, Bruce. Ken is survived by his daughters, Cindy Little and husband, Roy, of Carmel, and Nancy DeLong and husband, Brent, of Bangor; one half brother, Maxwell (Gene) Gray of Machias; one stepsister, Mary Beal of Georgia; 4 grandchildren: Bryan Little of Orono, Lauren Pearson and husband, David, of Frontenac, KS, Scott DeLong and wife, Kelsey, of Bangor and Katelyn Boucher and husband, Mark, of Pittsfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Sylvia Leibensperger of Stephentown, NY; 5 nieces: Priscilla Frenette, Glenda Boyd, Laura Leibensperger, Kate Dillon, and Roslyn Pitt; and 4 great-grandchildren and many wonderful friends."

[55388] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 28 December 2023: "Richmond - Ellen Sargent Kroot, 89, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023. She spent her last days at home with her family. Ellen was surrounded by angels as the Holy Spirit received her into the kingdom of heaven. Ellen was born in Ellsworth on Sept. 28, 1934, the daughter of the late Raymond and Viola Sargent. Ellen believed that it was more important how one did things than what they did. An example is when she had preschool for 20 years; she was the only one in the area who would care for special needs children. Her diverse work included substitute teaching for K-12 local schools, running a restaurant for a few years and managing the non-medical responsibilities of an orthodontist office for decades. Ellen immersed herself in her local community in ways that had profound impacts. Her love, caring, tireless giving, intellect, and humor permeated her experiences with the Dresden-Richmond United Methodist church, the food pantry, library, senior center, and countless individuals. She is survived by her children; Katherine Glad and her husband Eugene of Woodstock, Colleen Huntington and her husband Allen of Lisbon Falls, Carolyn Kroot and her husband Gregory Small of Lady Lake Florida, Christopher Kroot and his wife Luanne Wrenn of Mount Vernon, Craig Kroot and his wife Janice of Cumberland. She is also survived by sister Lillian Sargent Katsiaficas of Ellsworth, her late sister Rachels husband, Carl Magoon of Ellsworth, her special cousin Cynthia Engleman of Spokane Washington, her grandchildren: Anthony Glad, Angelica (Glad) and husband David Bowidowitz, Wade Williams, Lance and wife Tess Williams, Allyn and Kenneth Huntington, Julie Robertson, Brandon Kroot, Alex and Zack Wrenn, Christian and Alexander Kroot, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and her lifelong best buddy of 80 years, Patti Higgins. She was predeceased by her husband, John Edward Kroot, brothers Roger and Bill Sargent, and sister Rachael Sargent Magoon."
