"A history of Farmington, Franklin County, Maine, from the earliest explorations to the present time, 1776-1885," Francis Gould Butler, offers: "The Cushman family of America traces its ancestry to Robert Cushman, a non-conforming English clergyman. He cast his fortune among the Pilgrim fathers, accompanied them to Holland, and with them left Delft Haven in the Speedwell. Wlien she became unseaworthy, he returned with her to Southampton. The following year he again set sail for America, and arrived in the Fortune, Nov. 9, 1621. Mr. Cushman continued his profession in America, and was considered a learned and able preacher. Many of his sermons were famed on both sides of the Atlantic. He had one son, Thomas, born in England in 1606, who accompanied him to this country. He was an elder in the church, and married Mary Allerton, who became the last survivor of the Mayflower passengers. They were the parents of eight children. The family of Cushman which settled in Farmington is descended from Eleazar, the seventh child of Thomas and Mary Cushman, who was born in 1656, His son James settled at Dartmouth, and was the father of James Cushman, who came as an old man to Farmington to die with his oldest child."

Find A Grave offers Ziba's obituary: "The deceased was born in New Hampshire, in 1793. When a young man he removed to Ohio, being one of the first settlers in Licking county, that state. In 1848 he removed to this county, and settled on the place where he resided until his death. When Mr. Jones first came to Scott township there was no school house or church in which to hold religious services. With the aid of his neighbors he went to work and built a school house on his own place, where services have been held since that time. For more than seventy years Mr. Jones was a member of the M. E. church, having united with that organization when but fifteen.
The deceased was the father of J. W. Jones, Mrs. Adam Metzgar, Mrs. Alex McClue, Mrs. Nelson Hutchins and Mrs. Matilda Jagger, all of this county. With the last named daughter he was living at the time of his death. Another daughter resides in Battle Creek, Mich. - Steuben Republican, 24 Nov 1880, p. 8, col. 4."

[54982] Jeremiah is said to be son of Jonathan Tracy (1713-1796) & Abigail Riggs (1726-1795; m. in 1743 in ME). Find A Grave memorial 127973868 offers: "He is remembered as the founder of Tracy Village in New Brunswick. He was an American, who moved northward, not as a Loyalist, but as a disillusioned American patriot. Shortly before Jeremiah's birth, parents Jonathan and Abigail Tracy moved their family from Preston, Connecticut to 'Old Falmouth,' now Portland, Maine. By 1762, Jonathans family and three sons moved to Gouldsboro, Maine. In 1771 Jeremiah married Sarah Leighton, who was born in Dover, New Hampshire. Together they had about 10 children, listed in family notes as: Solomon, Mary, Israel, Asa, Samuel, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Lydia, Sarah, and Abigail. Jeremiah served in the military at the outbreak of the American Revolution. It has been suggested that severe loss of life and defeat at sea influenced Jeremiahs decision in 1781 to resettle in Canada. In 1785 he petitioned for land, but remained unsuccessful for 25 years. In 1810, at the age of 66, he obtained property on the North branch of the Oromocto River near Fredericton. To this day the area is known as 'Tracy.' The New Brunswick Tracy family had little contact with their American relatives, with the exception of a visit from Jeremiah's brother, Solomon, in early 1812. Jeremiahs health was already in decline, and he died some weeks later."
