Mark Honey ("The Ellsworth American" [Ellsworth, ME], 28 Aug 2008, p. 6) states Nathaniel Jr. was b. ca. 1705 and reports that he was apprenticed to Benjamin Stone of York while a teenager. Honey states "Nathaniel, at the age of 14, stole his indenture papers and burned them, presumable to be free of his obligations to Stone. He was brought before the court, and sentenced to be whipped, only to have his punishment remitted after he apologized and promised to be faithful to his master. Nathaniel was one of countless young men who would be indentured in the 18th century, and no doubt, one of many who rebelled under the sometimes harsh conditions of an apprenticeship." Honey reports that Nathaniel m. Honey lists children of both marriages.
