He had been the star route mail driver from Bucksport to Sargentville for the past 20 years. He was born in Penobscot January 25, 1896 son of Pearly and Lela (Wardwell) Leach. He was a member of Rising Star Masonic Lodge No. 177 of Penobscot. Surviving are his wife, Nina F. Leach of Penobscot; six sons, Linwood R. and Pearl M. of Penobscot, George A. of Stockton Springs, Edward F. of Framingham, Mass., Earl R. of Bucksport and James A. of New Britain, Conn.; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy H. Leach of Penobscot; eight sisters, Mrs. Avis Conary and Mr.s Russell Field of Bucksport, Mrs. Marjorie Pette and Miss Ilive Leach of Seal Harbor, Mrs. Myrtle Inman ol Ellsworth, Mrs. Murrill Leach of Swampscott, Mass., Mrs. Gladys Eldridge and Mrs. Tdeline Marks of Or-land; six brothers, Kenneth of Lynn, Mass., Walter of Penobscot, Clyde of Connecticut, Carl of Cape Rosier, Jack of Seal Harbor and Harland of Bucksport; 17 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins."
