He is a good official and has proved himself to be an efficient and capable man. He has served as president of the board for the past three years. Socially he is a member of Elysburg Lodge, No. 414, F. & A.M., and a member of Bloomsburg Consistory, having taken the thirty-second degree; he is a member of Shamokin lodge of Elks, No. 355. In religion he is a member of the Reformed Church.
"Mr. Erdman was twice married. His first wife was Marietta Adams, daughter of Daniel H. and Sarah (Pensyl) Adams. After her death he married (second) Catherine B. Goss, daughter of John Goss, of Ralpho township. They have three children: Esther B., Russell D. and Charles B."
