[54602] "Bar Harbor Times [Bar Harbor, Maine]," 19 January 1927, p. 8: "Mrs. Caroline S Bowden Died Wednesday Morning Mrs. Caroline S Bowden passed away early this Wednesday morning at her home in Salisbury Cove after an illness of about two weeks following several years of failing health. She was born March 24, 1853, the daughter of Isaac and Cordelia Cousins Hopkins and has always lives in the home in which she died, a house which is of historic interest being on of the oldest in town having been build when Maine was a part of Massachusetts. She married Frank O. Bowden of Ellsworth whose death occurred several years ago. Two married sons, Paul Leon and Frank Lewis survive her; a daughter Addie May the oldest child, having died at the age of two years. Much care and devotion has been given her by the daughters-in-law who were the Misses Jennie and Mamie Powell of Cambridge, Mass. and who were with her to the last. Mrs. Bowden united with the Eden Baptist Church early in life was and always one of its most active workers. She was a charter member of Bay View Grange and until the past few years due to poor health was one of its most ardent supporters. She was always identified with everything in the community that was for the welfare of the town. A woman full of kindly deeds, and to whom many have turned for help and sympathy in time of need, her passing brings sorrow to the whole community. Funeral services will be at the Baptist Church Salisbury Cove Friday afternoon."

Rodick Sr., 84, of Plantsville, Conn., passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Cheshire Regional Rehabilitation Center in Cheshire, Conn. Born on Dec. 27, 1930, in Bar Harbor, he was the son of the late Alfred and Viola (Staples) Rodick. After graduating from Bar Harbor High School in 1949, he moved to Connecticut in 1950. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Conner) Rodick, who he married in 1952. Mr. Rodick was employed by Landers Ferry and Clark, New Britain Machine, Pratt & Whitney and New England Aircraft Products, retiring from New England Aircraft. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose, an avid Red Sox fan who enjoyed every game he saw, watching them win the World Series in 2004 and 2006. He enjoyed card games with his co-workers at New England Aircraft. He greatly enjoyed all family gatherings and time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Benjamin is survived by his son Benjamin A. Rodick Jr. and his daughter Charlotte Welch and her husband, James E. Welch, of Bennington, Vt.; his brother, Alfred Rodick Jr. of Avon Park, Fla.; four sisters: Viva Wilson of Elmira Heights, N.Y.; Frances Gray of Northeast Harbor; Mary McFarland of Ellsworth, and Jeanette Lanzillo of Lynn, Mass.; a sister-in-law Florence Conner of Berlin, Conn., and 29 nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren: Gary McCabe and his partner Carla Angelo; Jonathan and Jameson Shaw, all of Terryville, Conn.; Natasha Shaw of Bristol, Conn., and Lisa Monroe and her husband, David, of Bennington, Vt., and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, his daughters, Margaret Rodick and Carolyn Shaw, and his sister Ruth Keyes."
