She was born Aug. 10, 1894 in Penobscot, the daughter of Elmer and Hattie (Grindle) Leach. She was a member of the Castine Grange and the Medockwando Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Martha Durant; a son, Elmer; and a brother, Frank Leach, all of Penobscot; a sister, Mrs. Martha Hale, Sorrento; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews."
