[43258] Albert is son of Eli Leffler and Mahala Bright. Find A Grave Memorial 181507330 offers: "Mr. Leffler was born near Dayton, Ohio, February 7, 1862. He was reared in the Buckeye state and when about 25 years old he came to Missouri and engaged in the planing mill business with the Davis Brothers at Tina. When the business was moved to Carrollton, he came also and remained a member of the firm until the early nineties, when he sold out. Being a pattern maker by trade he secured a responsible position with the Dain Manufacturing Co., remaining with this firm several months. He then went to St. Louis, and from there to Panama, where he stayed three years. He returned to Carrollton three years ago. March 14, 1894, he was married to Miss Mina Farnham. Of this union one son, John was born. He was drowned in June 1915. While in Panama Mr. Leffler contracted the disease that eventually caused his death. After coming home he gradually showed the ravages of the disease, and a year ago, in an attempt to stay its progress he began living and sleeping in a tent, believing the fresh air would do for him what medical science could not do. But this proved unavailing. Every week showed a steady decline. Two weeks ago he became very low, but, as frequently before, he rallied somewhat, but it proved only temporary, and Monday night at 11:20 o'clock he quietly passed away. Mr. Leffler was baptized into the Lutheran church in child-hood, and held to this church in late years. He suffered long, but was cheerful and patient throughout. He was an honorable citizen, friendly to all and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his untimely end. - The 'Carrollton Daily Democrat;' Tuesday, October 24, 1916" The Leffler surname is German, an occupational name for a maker or seller of spoons, a variant of Loeffler.
