After school, he enlisted in the Air Force and then later the Army, where he retired as a 1st Sargent. After retiring from the military, Joe joined the City of Brewer Public Works and then moved to Parks and Rec, where he retired after 20+ years. During retirement, you could find him riding around with his beloved dog, Buddy, and helping friends and strangers alike. Over the last few years, he delivered food and supplies to the communities of the less fortunate. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Steven, Terry (Sam), and Alson (Butch); sisters, Alice, Linda, and Debra; and grandson, Harry (Joey). Joe leaves behind wife, Betty; son, William and his wife, Lisa; son, Joey and girlfriend, Pauline; grandsons, Nicholas and Alexzander; granddaughters, Abigail and Chelsea; great-granddaughters, Freya and Emma; brother, Craig and his wife, Della; sister, Verle and her husband, Frank. Joe has touched so many lives over the last 70 years he surely was loved and will be missed by many."
