SAR Patriot Index Edition III (CD: PP2210, Progeny Publ., 2002) plus data to 2004 states Westhall is a Patriot stating "Member of the Committee of Observation, Anne Arundel Co. , MD. Took Oath of Fidelity " and he is a proven NSSAR Patriot and a proven ancestor for the Sons and Daughters of Officers of the Colonial Militia 17751783 (he was Lieutenant under Captain Herman Yost, Frederick Co. Militia).
