He married twice and by his first wife Anne, daughter of Danly of Bramhope. County York he had ten children, his second wife was Ellen daughter of William Style of Haddochson, county York. His children were 1st Thomas, 2nd William, 3rd Roger, 4th Syman of Pontefract (in England pronounced Pomfret) who was married at Featherstone in 1580 to Catherine Austurcke of Pontefract, 5th Jane married John Thorp 1635, 6th Alice married Robert Banister, 7th Graver married John Novield, 8th Anne 9th Matthew, 10th Catherine. Of there children Thomas the eldest inherited Acton, and married Frances daughter and heiress of William Frost of Acton and had three sons, Thomas, William, and Marmaduke, baptised in 1573." Cf.
