He was born Feb. 14, 1903 in Allison to Joseph and Elizabeth (Moralee) Truax, and attended rural schools in the Allison area. He married Bena Reysack on Oct. 5, 1925 in Hampton, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1975. They farmed near Geneva, Dougherty and the Mason City area, moving to the farm south of Clear Lake, where they had lived for the past 30 years. Mr. Truax was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, the Muddy Pond C.B. Club and the Eden Farm Club. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, with the Rev. James Louk officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake. The family requests memorials be given to the Ted Truax Memorial Fund. Mr. Truax is survived by his wite, Bena, rural Clear Lake; three sons, Russell, Humboldt; Gary, Lincoln, Neb., and David, Mason City; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Joan) Wipf, Clear Lake; two brothers, John and Willis Truax, both of Parkersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Vern (Flossie) Ritzman, Ackley, and Mrs. George (Bernice) VanDyke, Dumont; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
