[48330] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 5 October 2017": "Penobscot - Andrew C. Grindle, 53, died peacefully on Sept. 27 with his brother Gene and his partner Judy at his side after a long, courageous fight with corticobasal degeneration (CBD). He was born on Dec. 7, 1963, in Castine, son of the late Robert and Jeanette Grindle. After graduating from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, Andrew worked for several different carpentry companies before starting his own business. Many houses bear his stamp in the Blue Hill and Castine area. He married Brenda Alley of Bangor and together they raised four children, Jason, Nicholas, Kali and Kody. He also enjoyed time with his grandchildren Benjamin and Elizabeth. He was active in all his children sporting events. His favorite pastimes were golfing with friends, going on family camping trips, and seeing all his good friends at Ramonas Bar and Grill in Bucksport. He is survived by his brother Tim Bishop and wife, Connie, of Bucksport, Ted and Wanda Bishop of Herford, Ariz., Gene Grindle of Brunswick and many special nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a special friend, Leon Shorey, who was always a phone call away."
