Ruths, 72, of 1439 Popular Street, Kulpmont, died this morning at 12:20 in Ashland State General Hospital, where he was a patient five weeks. Born in Mount Carmel, October 4, 1897, Mr. Ruths was the son of the late William and Pauline (Klawitter) Ruths. He was a carpenter and last worked for Reiner Brothers, Mount Carmel, before retiring 11 years ago. Mrs. Ruths was married June 29, 1918, in St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church, Mount Carmel, to the former Carrie Raybuck. His death terminates a marital union of over 51 years. Mr. Ruths was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church, Kulpmont, and Social Civic Club, Mount Carmel. Survivors, in addition to the widow, include two sons, Walter, Bristol, and the Rev. Arthur Ruths, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Hanover; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Betty) Evans, Middletown; nine grandsons, three great-grandchildren, and two brothers, George, Mount Carmel, and Walter, Phoenixville."
