[53595] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 23 November 1992, p. 4: "Stillwater - Harold Joseph Cota, 72, died Nov. 22, 1992, at his home in Stillwater. He was born in Orono, Feb. 3, 1920, the son of Joseph F. and Maude (Hubley) Cota. He was a graduate of Orono High School, Class of 1939 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. From 1938-1942, he operated the Railway Express Agency in Orono and again operated the agency from 1945-1950. Harold was the co-owner of the former Cota Fuel Co. of Orono from 1950 until his retirement in 1982. He also was an antique dealer, with a large collection of mechanical banks and a collector of coins. Harold was an avid outdoor enthusiast enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening, and wos a member of the American Legion Post No. 84 of Orono. Surviving in addition to his beloved wife of 45 years, Helen Louise Cota of Stillwater, are three daughters and one son-in-law, Susan and Gary Young, Julie Ann Cota, Amy Louise Cota, all of Stillwater; one granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Young; one grandson, Chad Joseph Young; one brother, Ross Cota of Milford; five sisters, Louise Dee Bradbury, Joan King, Ruth Cota, June Anderson, all of Orono, Jean Hamilton of Veazie; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Estelle Hussey; four brothers, Lee Cota, Karl Cota, Norman Cota ond Lauren 'Buttons' Cota." He is son of Joseph Frederick Cota (1888-1947) & Maude Estelle Hubley (1893-1982).
