She was born in Bradford, Aug. 30, 1917. the daughter of Marcus and Vivian (Kemp) Strout. She was education in Bradford schools. Mrs. Archer was a former member of the Penobscot County Extension; former member of the Rebekah Lodge of Etna; former member of the Pleasant Lake Grange of Stetson; a former member of the East Stetson Christmas Club; and a former librarian in the town of Stetson. She was a life-member of Help Somehow of Waltham, Maine. She was a member of the Stetson Union Church and the Ladies Aid of the church. She was the beloved wife of 55 years of Wood-row Archer who died in 1989 She is the beloved mother of two sons, Reginald A. Archer of Gloversville, N.Y., and Craig L. Archer of Stetson; five daughters, Jackquelyn Tardiff of Brewer, Kathleen Underhill of Stetson, Lorraine A. Thibodeau of Levant, Theresa Gray of Stetson, and Carol F. LaPlant of Stetson; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several cousins. She was predeceased by her father and mother, her devoted stepfather, Aldis Williams, and her sister, Althea Pike Friends." Fern is daughter of Marcus Gilbert Strout (1887-1921) & Vivian B. Kemp (1897-1987; m. 20 September 1916 in Waltham, Hancock Co., ME).
