[44700] Find A Grave memorial 190469210 offers his obituary: "Funeral services for Captain Weston P. Whitcomb, veteran navigator on the Willamette and Columbia rivers, whose death occurred Thursday at the family home, 757 East Twenty-eighth street, are to be conducted at 2:30 oclock this afternoon at Finleys chapel. Commitment is to be at Memorial hall, Portland crematorium. At the time he retired from river service, Captain Whitcomb was master of the steamer Joseph Kellogg in which capacity he had served a number of years. He was born at Milwaukie, Or., in 1848. His parents had crossed the plains the preceding year. His father, James Henry Whitcomb, also was a steamboat master. The widow, a sister, Mrs. Rose Thomas of Portland, and a brother, George A.
