[1097] Elizabeth is daughter of Elisha Ingersoll (1676-1726). Elisha built the first frame house on Portland Neck about 1714 and because of this was nicknamed "Gov. Ingersoll." He was captured by Native Americans as a youth and returned to Kittery, ME May 25, 1695. For family see "Old Kittery and Her Families," Everett S. Stackpole (Lewiston, ME: 1903), p. 547, and "A Genealogy of the Ingersoll Family in America, 1629-1925," Lillian Drake Avery (NY: The Grafton Press, 1926), pp 10-11(which reports he built the first frame house on Portland Neck and was thenceforth styled "Governor Ingersoll"). Elisha m. Mary _____ who d. ca. 26 June 1722. Elizabeth conveyed her interest in her father's property in Falmouth, York Co., ME to John Teney by deed 14 June 1735. [57203] Elizabeth's obituary: "Elizabeth D. Shaw, 88, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born April 25, 1919, in Brookton, the daughter of Converse and Amanda Jane (Neal) Kinney. Elizabeth grew up in Eaton and attended area schools. She later moved to Mars Hill and worked at several jobs, such as cooking at Winnie's, Smiths Truck Stop, the Cafeteria for the phone company in Presque Isle and finally at Loring Air Force Base, where she worked in housekeeping. Upon her retirement from the airbase, Elizabeth and her husband, Averill, spent 12 winters in Florida and enjoyed many happy times there. Elizabeth was a longtime member of Full Gospel Assembly, Mars Hill. She is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Garrison and her husband, Garry, of Mars Hill and Sandra Maynard and her husband, Bill, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, the Rev. Clinton Kinney of Eaton; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a stepson, Wendall Shaw of Orange Park, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Averill; four brothers, Kenneth, George, Neal and Ivan Kinney; six sisters, Glen Lincoln, Etta Neal, Maria Bragdon, Pearl Gray, Alma Mc-Laughlin and Francis York; and a stepson, Wallace Shaw. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Full Gospel Assembly, Mars Hill. Interment will take place after the service at King's Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill."
