The LDS Church's Ancestral File (not verified) reports that he is buried at Pequonoc, New London, that he was called "Captain," that he was "of Cornwall, Devonshire" [sic] and that he m. (2) after 1664 in CT to Abigail Holmes and (3) 4 July 1698 at Boston, MA to Abigail Chesebrough [sic]. The Ancetral File (1999)lists these children:

"Here is some info from my family book, published in 1893:
"Robert Avery of Pill (now Pylle) was a yeoman who tilled his own land. He had three sons - William, Richard,and Thomas. He died before OCT,1575. William the oldest son of Robert had one son, Robert, This Robert is the Robert of Workingham and he was the father of Dr. William of Dedham. Robert of Workingham, Perkshire was a blacksmith, married to Joanne ------, and had three children: William (Dedham) born in 1622, Robert, and Frances. Dr. William came to Dedham in 1650 with his wife Margaret and three children -- Mary, William, and Robert. These were the only children of Dr. William and Margaret born in England. Children born to Dr.William and Margaret:
1. Mary- Dec. 19, 1645 in Barkham. She married Nov. 5, 1666 to James Tisdale of Taunton, Mass and they lived in Middleboro, Mass. She died Sept. 9, 1713,age 68. He died Jan. 15, 1715, age 71.
2. William- OCT 27, 1647 in Barkham
3. Robert- Dec. 7, 1649 in Barkham
4. Jonathan- B. May 26, 1653 in Dedham, MA
5. Rachel- B. Sept. 20, 1657 in Dedham
6. Hannah- B. Sept. 27, 1660 in Dedham
7. Ebenezer- B. Nov. 24, 1663 in Dedham. He died before 1683.
"Dr. William lived in Dedham till 1679, then moved to Boston and was a bookseller. His shop was located near the Blue Anchor in 1679. This is now the location of the Boston Globe Newspaper. The homestead in Dedham was occupied till about 1893 by his descendants. Margaret died Sept. 28, 1678. Dr. William married his second wife, Mary (Woodmansey) Tapping, daughter of Robert Woodmansey. Dr. William died Mar. 18, 1686, age 65. His tombstone stands in Kings Chapel in Boston; the stone does not stand in its original location as vandals moved many of the stones. Mary died May 21, 1707, age 78.
