Violante and her daughter-in-law escaped with the children to Aragon, where Viol antes brother was king. The two ladies tried to find supporters everywhere in Europe, and started to build up a political network by writing letters to Blanche's mother Marguerite de Provence, the French dowager queen, to other royals, to the pope and other important personalities. Finally, after negotiating, Violante returned home but never was really reconciled with her husband. Violante spent several years in Castile consecrating her life to pious works, but occasionally made her way back to the political scene supporting for example her son Sancho, who had started a rebellion against her estranged husband, the king."

[32558] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 26 December 2012": "Old Orchard Beach - Neal W. Soper, 68, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough. He was born Oct. 4, 1944, the son of Keith and Vera (Uhlin) Soper. Neal graduated from Bucksport High School in 1962 and joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was employed for many years at Kmart, Bangor, and later at Control Devices, Standish. Neal is survived by his best friend and wife of 33 years, Marcia (Stone) Soper; brother, Gary Soper; and sisters, Ingrid Swenson and Kris Quigley. He is also survived by Marcia's sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Paul Fergus and Judith Matthews. Their families and many special great-nieces and great-nephew held a special closeness to Neal. Neal will be remembered for his great sense of humor in dealing with a debilitating rare muscle disease, IBM, during the past two years.
