His surname is Cursenwhitt, Cosson, Corson or Curson [variants found in public records]. He is son of Jan Courson [sic] and settled at Dover, NH by 1685 - see "Penobscot Pioneers...Closson...," Philip Howard Gray (Camden: Penobscot Press, 1992), p. 49. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 8 October 1956," p. 15: "Bucksport - Lyman Irving Hutchins, 21, was fatally injured this morning in an auto accident at Prospect. Born at Penobscot May 14, 1928, he was the son of Alton and Eleanor (Grindle) Hutchins. Mr. Hutchins was graduated in 1947 from Bucksport High School where he was prominent in athletics. He received his discharge from the U. S. Army on August 1 after serving 16 month in Korea. Surviving are his father, Alton Hutchins; a daughter, Rhonda and a son, Philip; three brothers, Harold, Clyde and John Hutchins; a sister, Brenda; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Harriet Hutchins, all of Bucksport several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews."
