He was a lifelong member of Lewistown Fire Police Assn., a member of the Pennsylvania Fire Police Assn., and the Brooklyn Hose Company, Lewis- town. Mr. Shontz Is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Shontz, Lewistown; his wife, Mrs. Marian L. Arnold Shontz; his son, Thomas R., at home, and his brother, Stanley H. Shontz, Lewistown R. D. 2."

Pleasant River, afterwards Addison, in 1769- '70. He remained a short time and returned home for his father Wilmot Wass and his family who came to Addison in 1772.
Wilmot Wass' family were Wilmot, David, John, James, Betsey. Wilmot Wass married ________ Strout; children, Wilmot, William, James, Christopher, John, Lucy, Polly. 2d married Rebecca Jordan; children, Joseph, David, Daniel, Stillman, Rebecca, Betsey, Anna. Wilmot Wass 3d married 1st Wealthy Dyer; children-- Lemuel, Holmes, Jones, Otis, Robert, Rebecca: 2d Phebe Coffin; one child Sophia." A William Wass, age 81, a sea captain, d. 19 March 1851, is buried in Great Hill Cemetery, Columbia Falls, Washington Co., ME - see Find A Grave memorial182424900.
