[47361] Find A Grave memorial 131660240 offers: "Thomas Kinne was born about 1578, in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. He was the son of Sir Robert Kinne. Thomas was a merchant and trader in King's Lynn. He married a woman named Ann. Thomas was knighted on October 4, 1618 by James I. He was thereafter a baronet, which is higher than a knight, but lower than a baron. Thomas fled to Holland because of religious persecution under Charles I. He probably died in Holland. His grandson Henry Keney made a deposition in 1684 in Salem, Massachusetts. In the deposition, he stated, 'My father was ye John Keney out of Norfolk in ye olde England, and my mother was ye Cheever and my grandfather was ye Sir Thomas Keney in Lynne ye marchant and trader there who was soe Knighted by ye Goode Queen Elizabeth for ye gift of ships to ye Captaine Daves ye Navigator, etc.' Henry was slightly mistaken in that statement. His grandfather Thomas was knighted on October 4, 1618 by King James I. The person knighted by Queen Elizabeth was his great grandfather Sir Robert kinne of Kings Lynne, Norfolk, England."

She was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Blue Hill, the daughter of Walter B. and Wilma (Grindle) Wescott. Rowena attended Blue Hill schools and graduated from George Steven Academy in 1928. She pursued a musical interest in life from the age of 10, studying under teachers and directors in Bangor and Philadelphia. She declined an offer to pursue her musical study in Europe following high school. For many years she taught piano lessons to local children and adults in her home. She played the organ at the West Brooksville Congregational Church for about 10 years. She married Howard L. Blodgett irt 1934 and lived in Brooksville until entering the Island Nursing Home in 1999. She was a housewife who contributed as a frequent driver the rural delivery mail route from Blue Hill to Brooksville for 14 years. She often assisted with the raising of sheep for nearly 20 years. For six years, she drove the kindergarten school bus and she was often observed helping in the hayfield or driving a lawn mower in the neighborhood. A simple letter signed by a Pillsbury Flour representative in 1953, attests to her bread baking ability in the local community. She enjoyed sewing and made a number of quilts still being enjoyed by family members and friends throughout the nation. During World War II, she maintained monthly correspondence with over 10 military members serving their country, who came from several local communities. Rowena is survived by two sons, Edson B.
