The "Chicago Tribune,: 2 October 1931, p. 18: "Willis S. Herrick, 66 years old, president of the Avenue State bank of Oak Park, died last night in his home, 175 North Grove avenue, Oak Park, following a stroke of paralysis on Sunday. Mr. Herrick was one of the founders of the bank thirty years ago. He was president of Herrick, Auerbach & Vastine, insurance underwriters, and a member of the Union League club. His father, the late O. W. Herrick, was one of the original residents of Oak Park.
Surviving Mr. Herrick are his widow and one daughter."

[21243] Benjamin was an Ensign (1 June-11 Nov 1725 - on the muster roll of Capt. Joshua Moody's Company, 22 Nov 1725), Selectman at Falmouth (1727). He m. (1) Mary Hunt - they had four sons and five daughters; their son Joseph (b. 30 July 1725 at Falmouth) was Lt. Col. in the French and Indian War at Crown Point 22 June 1759 and in 1764 innkeeper of "The Bunch of Grapes" tavern in Boston, MA - it was a meeting place of "Patriots" and the "Tea Party" is said to have been planned there in 1773. {Cf. Avery, Lilliam Drake, "A Genealogy of the Ingersoll Family in America" (Grafton, NY: 1926). Benjamin m. (2) Mrs. Sarah (Ireson) Parker, widow of Capt. James Parker (d. Feb. 1732/1733); she was the mother of son Benjamin's wife, Mary, son William's wife, Sarah and daughter Sarah's husband, James W. Parker."
