His death date and place are from "Maine Death Records, 1617-1922" which shows the actual record as files. Joseph's Civil War Draft Registration shows him at Amherst, ME. In 1888 "The Maine Register" shows him as a manufacturer of shingle at Amherst, ME and 1889-1904 the Register shows the firm as the J. A. Kenniston & Sons company which makes shingles and berry boxes.
