She was the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Clara L. Atwood. Mrs. Treat is survived by three children, Mrs. Donald S. Clark 2nd of Tucson, Ariz., Joshua Treat 3rd, of Belfast, and William W. Treat of Hampton, N.H." Clara is daughter of Lewis Atwood (1843-1932) & Clara A. Crowell (1844-1909; m. 10 November 1866 in Winterport, Waldo Co., ME).

"Patroit News [Harrisburg, PA]," 12 March 2012: "James C. Nelson, 81, of East Berlin, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of Iris K. (Leas) Nelson, and the late Margery Nelson.
He was born October 21, 1930 in Kane, PA, the son of the late Emil S. and Mabelle (Thomas) Nelson. Jim was a member of Zwingli U.C.C. in East Berlin, where he served on the consistory, and served with the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry. He was also a member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, a past president of the East Berlin Historical Society, the East Berlin V.F.W. Post #8896, where he served on the board of directors, and was an avid woodworker and gardener. He was a graduate of Penn State University where he received the Alumni Award from the School of Forestry. Jim was a Forest Resource Planner responsible for developing timber management criteria, wildlife habitat guidelines, natural area and wild area programs for the state forests. He was the author of the first comprehensive Forest Resource Plan for 2 million acres of state forest land in 1970 during a career that spanned 42 ½ years with the PA Bureau of Forestry culminating in the position of State Forester, and was the Director of the Bureau from 1989-1994. He was also a fellow of 50 years with the Society of American Foresters and served on their board of directors. In addition to his wife Iris, Jim is survived by two daughters; M. Patrice Tritt and her husband William of New Tripoli, and Marta D. Hamme and her husband Randall of New Cumberland, a son, Mark E. Nelson of Lewisberry, a step son, Jason D. Webb and his wife Lisa of York Springs, eight grandchildren; Sarah Young, John Tritt, Meghan Maggiacomo, Jessica Felici, Daniel McNichol, Katelyn Yeager, Patrick McNichol, and Cody Nelson, a step granddaughter, Alexis Webb, a great granddaughter, Ryleigh Yeager, and a brother, Thomas Nelson of Ludlow. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marni McNichol. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 11 AM at Zwingli U.C.C., 403 W. King St, East Berlin, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Margaret J. Wise, officiating."

[39995] Find A Grave Memorial 38605659 offers: "Edward Sturgis Jr. worked with his father in importing liquor for the inn that his father kept. On November 12, 1678 at about 36 yrs of age, he made a noncupative (verbal) will which was written down on November 15, 1678 and witnessed by his mother, Elizabeth Sturgis, John Sunderland and Joseph Gorham and was probated on June 3, 1679. The will bequeathed 1/3 to the widow and the remaining 2/3 to be divided equally among his children, except that son, Joseph Sturgis, was to have 20 pounds more than the rest, and daughter, Desire Sturgis was to have his silver tankard. He died with an estate of 900 pounds which was a large estate for that time. His real estate of 100 acres was partitioned for the four sons, Joseph, Edward, James and Samuel. Their uncle, Governor Hinckley, supervised the administration of his estate."
