Also called Ashot II 'the Iron' of Armenia. He was born circa 873. He was the son of Smbat I 'the Martyr', King of Armenia. He was crowned by Adarnase, King of Iberia, in 914. He married _____ Sewaday, daughter of Sahak Sewaday, Prince of Gardman, in 917. He attacked by his own brother, Abas, and his brother's father-in-law in 918. He was recognized as King of Kings following Yusuf's imprisonment by the Caliph in 919. King of Armenia in Transcaucasia between 921 and 929. He had the title shahanshah ('king of kings'), conferred on him and his successors by the caliph in 922. He ruled the Armenians after his father at the order of emperor Romanus for eight years (This was seven years after the murder of his father.). He was a volunteer on the ship Oliver Cromwell, built in Saybrook, Conn. and commanded by Timothy Parker, Esq. Time of entry, Mar 22, 1777; he was discharged on Sept 10, 1777 (Connecticut Historical Society Vol 8 p 256). He married Martha Baldwin and they had one child Ruth born 1792 died in 1890. She married Lebbus Auger in 1812."

[46758] "Gasconade County Republican [Owensville, Missouri], 4 August 1938," p. 1: "Funeral servcies were held at the Oak Hill Church Sunday afternoon for Jacob (Bud) Souders who died unexpectedly at his home in Sullivan Wednesday. Rev. F. B. Raines conducted the services. Burial was made in the Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Souders was 76 years of age. Heart disease caused his sudden death. Jacob Souders was born and lived all his life, with the exception of the last few months, in the Oak Hill neighborhood. He was the last member of the family of Jacob and Ellen Souders of Oak Hill. One brother, John Souders, preceded him in death only a few months ago. Mr. Souders was a well known farmer. He was also miller at Sarcoxie for a time. Mr. Souders is survived by his wife, the former Rose Benson, and six children. His first wife, nee Tyree, and two children preceded him in death. He leaves the following children, Mrs. George Jost of Oak Hill; Mrs. Jim Kitchen of Los Angeles, California; Cleo and Maxine; Blanche of Seattle, Washington; and Alvin who lives in California." Jacob's wife, Rosa lla Benson(1875-1961), is buried with him.
