His principal occupation was farming, owning about 2,000 acres of land at the time of his death. For many years he was Commissioner and surveyor for the town of Saybrook. He represented Saybrook in the Legislature. He was a very religious man, as was his father; and represented his Church in the Assembly of 1708, which adopted the 'Saybrook Platform.' On June 27, 1671, Robert Chapman, Jr. married Sarah Griswold, eldest daughter of Lieutenant Francis Griswold, of Norwich, Conn. She was born March 28, 1653, and died on April 7, 1692. Robert later married Mary Sheather. He died suddenly in the courtroom at Hartford, Conn., November 10, 1711. A tombstone marks his resting place in the old burial ground in Hartford, near the Center Church. Nine children were born of the marriage of Robert Chapman, Jr. and Sarah Griswold, the first of whom was Samuel Chapman."

[21365] Parents of Rurik are NOT PROVEN to my satisfaction, but are as given by http://www.genpc.com/gen/files/d0038/f0000001.html#I498 in 2003. http://www.umkc.edu/imc/oldrussia.htm states "862---Rurik and a group of related families arrive in Novgorod and the area becomes the "land of the Rus." These rulers are possibly invading Vikings from Sweden. Their chief business is trade with Byzantium. They drag their boats overland to the headwaters of the Dnieper, congregate in Kiev in June, wait for the spring floods to subside, set sail in huge convoys, and brave a 60-kilometer stretch of rapids and cataracts that is vulnerable to ambush by local tribesmen. From there, the way to the Black Sea is easy." Also see http://www.friesian.com/russia.htm#kiev and http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/RUSSIA,%20Rurik.htm.

[2552] His father, Boleslaus III, left the kingdom of Poland to be divided between his four sons. Thus under Vladislas II and his brothers Poland ceased to be a united state for two centuries and was open to many dangers such as the Mongol invasion in 1241 and the irresistable rise of the German nation to the west. {The ducal family founded by Pliast exercised control from Miesco I until 1370.} In 2007 http://www.answers.com/topic/w-adys-aw-ii-the-exile offers: "Following the death of his father, Boleslaw III Wrymouth, Wladyslaw II, as his eldest son, became High Duke of Poland. He controlled the high-ducal provinces of Kraków and Gniezno and also his hereditary province of Silesia. In 1145 he attempted to take control of the country, and mutilated the voivode, the Danish castellan Peter Wlast (Polish: Piotr Wlostowic). In 1146 Wladyslaw II was driven into exile by his younger brothers, and in 1159 he died in Germany. In 1163 the province of Silesia was granted to Wladyslaw's sons by Poland's Duke Boleslaw IV the Curly. Subsequently Silesia was divided into as many as 17 separate duchies among Wladyslaw's descendants and successors, until the Silesian Piasts died out with Georg Wihelm of Liegnitz Brieg (George IV William of Legnica) in 1675."
