[2687] http://www.earlybritishkingdoms.com/bios/budic2by.html reports: "Budic II, King of Brittany (Born c.AD 460) (Welsh: Buddig; Latin: Budicius; English: Budick) Not to be confused with his uncle and namesake, Budic was called by his title, Emyr Llydaw (Emperor of Brittany) by the Welsh. He apparently married the sister of High-King Arthur of Britain. The lady is usually assumed to have been Anna, but there are indications that Elaine (Elen) was his true wife. He is thus, probably, the original of King Nentres (a corrupt form of Emyr) who was mistakenly given the realm of Anna's husband, Garlot (Caer-Lot). He may also be connected with the literary King Ban of Benwick (sometimes Brittany). It was probably during his cousin's usurpation of the Breton throne that Budic fled to Britain, along with his father and the Breton fleet. They took refuge at the court of King Aircol Lawhir of Dyfed, where another cousin, Amon Ddu was an important official. Here, Budic met and married his second wife, Anowed, the sister of St. Teilo. The two settled in Britain and lived there for many years during which time Anowed gave birth to two sons. During her third pregnancy though, messengers arrived announcing that the Breton King (probably the childless Rivod) was dead and that his people desired Budic to be their King. So he returned in triumph to a kingdom that became known as Cornouaille Budic in his honour. It was during Budic's reign that, an old legend says, Breton armies first became invincible on horseback. During a visit of St. Teilo to Brittany, Budic, his brother-in-law, persuaded the saint to rid his lands of a terrible dragon that was terrorising the countryside. With much prayer, Teilo was able to subdue the beast and he tied it to a rock in the sea. Afraid that it would return without Teilo's protection, Budic created his brother-in-law the Bishop of Dol. Teilo entered the city upon a divine white steed given him by an angel. This, he later presented to the King with the promise that his cavalry would always be victorious in battle. Budic may have ruled jointly with his son, Hoel I Mawr (the Great) in his later years. He eventually died in 545, having left his grandson and heir, Tewdwr, in the care of King Macliau of the Vannetais."

[6] One account reports that Samuel's family resided at Washington Bottom near Perryopolis, Fayette Co., PA until about 1817 when they moved to Ohio. For Fayette Co. early history see R. Eugene Harper, "The Transformation of Western Pennsylvania, 1770-1800" (Pgh.: U. of Pgh.Press, 1991). Samuel is on the 1825 tax list in Wayne Co. A Samuel Jewell was a Trustee of East Union Twp., Wayne Co., OH in 1856 according to Ben Douglass' "History of Wayne Co., Ohio" (p. 614).

[9234] The 1900 census of Hickory Point, Macon Co., IL lists Charles (age 53) and wife Sarah V. (age 44), both b. in PA to parents b. in PA, and their children Roy (17) and Pearl (15) - also in the household is a "lodger", Clifford Church (age 1). Charles' obituary from the Review, 25 March 1926, p. 22: "Charles Weaver, prominent retired farmer, who lived at 350 East Center street, died at his home Thursday morning at 3:32 o'clock. Mrs. Weaver was seventy-nine years, six months and ten days old at the time of his death. Charles Weaver was born at Harrisburg, Pa. on Sept 15, 1846 and was married Nov. 7, 1872 to Sarah V. Sheibley, also of Harrisburg, Pa. Mr. & Mrs. Weaver lived on his farm in Hickory Point township near Forsyth for thirty-two years and moved into Decatur in 1906. Since that time he has lived at 1607 North Main street, that is until March 2. Last March, he purchased and moved into the property at which he died. Mr. Weaver has been in poor health for the last three and one-half years but was not in serious health until about two weeks ago. His death was not due to a sudden stroke of paralysis but came on slowly. Surviving Mr. Weaver are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Weaver and four children: Roy O. Weaver, Mrs. Pearl Hockaday and Clifford C. Weaver, all of Decatur, and James A. Weaver of Wichita, Kans. There are also thirteen grandchildren. Mr. Weaver had three sisters and one brother but they all preceded him in death."
