[12371] Mansfield News-Journal, 24 May 2000, p. 8: Martha M. Heichel, 90, formerly of Butler, died Tuesday morning, May 23, 2000, in Lexington Court Care Center after a long illness. She was born October 23, 1909 in Butler to Lee Floyd and Torris Beveridge and had been a lifelong resident of the Mansfield and Butler areas. Mrs. Heichel had worked in the small appliance production department of Westinghouse, and modeled for the company's Home Canning Guide magazine covers. A devoted mother and grandmother, Mrs. Heichel was a member of McElroy Road Church of Christ, and was previously a member and Sunday school teacher of Butler Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Saundra Cox of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Gurard Jerry & Gloria Hughes of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Mark and his wife Sheila Hughes of Grove City, Lori Morris, Ryan Cox and Robyn Cox, all of Mansfield; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Hughes, Sarah Hughes, Maggie Morris, Hannah Morris and Austin Cox; a brother fend sister-in-law, Edwin & Mary Elise Beveridge of Bellville; a sister, Mary Loney of Fredericktown; a sister-in-law, Catherine Beveridge of Bellville; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene Heichel on March 9, 1987; her son-in-law, John R. Cox; and a brother, Albert Beveridge.

[48096] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, ME], 6 November 2012": "Newcastle - Elwell P. Leach, 100, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at his residence, 13 years and one day after his wife, Frances. Ellie was born Feb. 3, 1912, in Orland, a son of William and Catherine (York) Leach. After the eighth grade Ellie worked at the mill in Bucksport, then for Central Maine Power Co., and in 1943 he joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country as a radar operator during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a petty officer second class, and at that time went back to Central Maine Power Co. as a boiler operator. In 1963 he married Frances Fossett Morin and they made there home in Newcastle. Ellie worked for Central Maine Power Co. for 35 years, retiring at the age of 64. Ellie enjoyed hunting and trips home to Orland to visit his family and friends. He loved to dance, sing and tell stories of when he was growing up, his military experience and the adventures of people he met along the way. He never forgot a name. He also enjoyed frequenting Yellowfront Grocery, Damariscotta, chatting it up with the girls, as well as his weekly luncheons with his great friend, Keith Bachelder and others from his Central Maine Power days. He was quite a legend. Ellie was a passionate member of the National Rifle Association, a member of Veterans of Foreign War and a 65-year member of the Masons Rising Sun Lodge No. 71. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances; sisters, Gertrude Snowman, Lena Leach and Ruth Dorr; and brothers, Phillip, William and Norman Leach. Ellie is survived by his sister, Hildred Kinney of Enfield; a stepson, James Morin and wife, Teri, of Topsham; a stepdaughter, Gay Clark and her husband, Paul, of Texas; stepgrandchildren, Tracy Spore and her husband, Kelly, of Texas, Douglas Clark and his wife, Gina, of Damariscotta, Janessa Clark of Stockholm, Sweden, and Michael Morin and his wife, Claudia, of Portland. He also has many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews."

She was a member of Klinger's Reformed Church. She is survived by the following children: Erwin Klinger, of Erdman; Clarence Klinger, of Fearnot; Mrs. Gertie Daniels, of Erdman; Mrs. Joseph Salada, of Valley View, and Mrs. John Troutman, of Klingerstown. Services were held from the residence at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with further services in Klinger's Lutheran and Reformed Church. Rev. Dr. D. I. Sultzbach of Valley View, officiated and interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church."
