[26621] In 2007 http://www.fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/DENMARK.htm offers: "Adam of Bremen names 'Hardechnut' as son of King Knud and Emma when recording that he succeeded his father in Denmark. Hardeknud may have been the son of King Knud who in 1023 was delivered as a hostage to Thorkell 'Havi/the Tall', in exchange for Thorkell's son, when Thorkell was reconciled with the king and appointed regent in Denmark. Hardeknud was proclaimed associate king of Denmark in 1028 at Nidaros. He succeeded his father in 1035 as Hardeknud King of Denmark. It seems that his father intended that Hardeknud and his half-brother Harald should succeed jointly in England, but Hardeknud was unable to leave Denmark to claim the English throne. He finally arrived at Bruges, where his mother was living in exile, in 1039. He was there when his half-brother died, whereupon he succeeded as Harthacnut King of England. He sailed back to England with his mother, landing at Sandwich 17 Jun 1040. He is said to have been crowned at Canterbury Cathedral in Jun 1040. His uterine half-brother Edward came to England in 1041 and was 'sworn in as future king'. King Hardeknud died at the wedding feast of his father's retainer, Tovi the Proud."

[50052] Familysearch.org file G46Y-GWL offers Mary's obituary: "Blue Hill - After several years of declining health, Mary Ann McVety Perkins died Nov. 23, 2012. She was born Aug. 16, 1931, along with her twin brother George, to Joseph and Esther McVety of Corinna. Mary Ann spent her childhood and teenage years in Corinna and was the captain of her championship basketball team. After high school she followed her mother and her Aunt Dora into the field of nursing. She attended the nursing program at Eastern Maine General Hospital and remained close friends with her classmates, who affectionately knew her as 'Taffy.' In her last year of nursing school she met the love of her life, Tom Perkins and they married in September 1953. She was his 'wifey' for the next 59 years. Being a mother was a treasured role for Mary Ann. Kim-Anne was born in 1955 and Thomas Jr. in 1956. She was 'mom' to countless others as she worked at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, served in the Congregational church, as well as sang in the choir, served on the Four Town Nursing Service board and volunteered in countless ways to help others. She was the friendly, warm face of Partridge Drug Store, while Tom served in the state Legislature. Mary Ann could be relied on to take care of everyone and keep things running. As she and Tom began to spend winters in Florida, she continued to volunteer at Cape Coral Hospital, once again relying on her nursing skills at a blood pressure clinic. As many have said, she was a class act. A compassionate, genuine person, Mary Ann was a good friend to all. In her last few years, an important circle of her longtime friends generously returned to her their caring and love. Tom and Mary Ann have always been blessed with many good people in their lives, the core of whom were in the Blue Hill area. Spending her last winter in Blue Hill was her most important wish. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Tom; son, Tom Jr. and his wife, Martha; and daughter, Kim-Anne. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Pamela and her husband, James, and her first great-granddaughter, Lydia, Thomas, Megan and Max. All of Mary Anns family was precious to her, but none more so than her twin, George McVety; brother, Fred Burrill; and their spouses, Judy McVety and Maureen Burrill. She is also survived by her older brothers wife, Barbara McVety. She will also be sorely missed by Toms side of the family, Fred and Pat Perkins, Marilyn and Richard Canton, Lois and Ralph Cross. She has been 'Aunt Mary' to and is survived by 23 nieces and nephews. Services will take place Dec. 4 at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Rob McCall officiating. The time of the service will be posted at a later date. Memorial gifts may be sent to Blue Hill Chamber of Commerce or Blue Hill Memorial Hospital."
