[11924] Margaret is sister of Richard Ferrers ( - "Ancestral Roots..." [7th Ed.], p. 83). A file in Ancestry.com in 2014 offers: "Daughter of Sir Edmund Ferrers, Knight of Chartley, Staffordshire, descendant of King Edward I, by Ellen de la Roche, daughter and co-heiress to Sir Thomas. Granddaughter of Sir Robert Ferrers and Margaret le Despenser, Thomas de la Roche and Elizabeth Bermingham. Wife of Sir John Beauchamp of Powick and Acton Beauchamp, son of Sir William Beauchamp and Katherine Usflete. They married before 1434 and had two sons, Sir Richard, 2nd Lord Beauchamp and Thomas. In 1448, Margaret received a papal indult allowing her to eat during Lent and on other fast days as she pleased due to weak health. Margaret's will was dated 29 Jan 1488. Both she and her husband were buried at Dominican Black Friars at Worcester."
[46035] The DAR "Lineage Book, Vol. 64," p. 225, reports that Daniel, born in Providence, RI, served as a Private in Col. Hitchcock's Regiment of Rhode Island infantry, participating in the battles of White Plains Trenton and Princeton, and in 1778 was a drummer in Capt. John Snow's expedition to Rhode Island. See "Field Genealogy, Vol. 1: Being the Record of All the Field Family in America, Whose Ancestors Were in This Country Prior to 1700; Emigrant Ancestors . . .," Frederick Clifton Pierce (Chicago, IL: Hammond Press,1903), p. 368. [5630] In 2003 http://84.1911encyclopedia.org/K/KE/KENT_KINGDOM_.htm reports: "Under the West Saxon dynasty Kent, together with Essex, Sussex and Surrey, was sometimes given as a dependent kingdom to one of the royal family. During Ecgbert's reign it was entrusted to his son Aethelwulf, on whose accession to the throne of Wessex, in 839, it was given to Aethelstan, probably his son, who lived at least till 851. From 855 to 860 it was governed by Aethelberht son of Aethelwulf. During the last years of Alfred's reign it seems to have been entrusted by him to his son Edward. Throughout the 9th century we hear also of two earls, whose spheres of authority may have corresponded to those of the two kings whom we find in the 8th century. The last earls of whom we have any record were the two brothers Sigehelm and Sigewulf, who fell at the Holm in 905 when the Kentish army was cut off by the Danes, on Edward the Elder's return from his expedition into East Anglia. At a later period Kent appears to have been held, together with Sussex, by a single earl." Also see Weis, Frederick Lewis.
