[29998] Wendel is a tinner, age 42, in Blooming Grove Twp., Richland Co., OH in the 17 Sept 1850 federal census with wife Philipoena [sic](age 35) and Philipoena Bowers (age 67)(apparently his mother-in-law) - all three born in Germany. This census lists son John in this family, age 11. Wikipedia reports of his birthplace "St. Wendel is a municipality in northeastern Saarland. It is situated on the river Blies 36 km northeast of Saarbrücken, the capital of Saarland, and is named after Saint Wendelin of Trier."

Joyce was a member of Reigle's Bible Fellowship Church, Millersburg, and The Red Hat Society. She enjoyed observing wildlife and nature.
