[28302] Barbara's obituary from Find A Grave Memorial 66872277: "Barbara Swigart, who died in Lucas on the 6th. inst., was born in Washington County, Pa., on the 8th. day of December, 1797. She was the daughter of Jacob and Mary Young, of Orange Township, Ashland County, O. Her youth was spent in Columbiana County, this State. She united in marriage to John Swigart on the 29th. day of February, 1816, and settled in Stark County where she resided about three years. They then moved to Orange Township, Ashland County , here they resided about two years, after which she and her husband settled in Monroe Tp., Richland Count, on what is now known as the old Kaylor farm, having ever since been a resident of said township. She raised a family of 10 children, six sons and four daughters, and had at the time of her death 52 grand-children, 49 great-grand-children, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Her late years were spent in Lucas. She was a great sufferer from a scrofulous disease for years, which she bore with great patience; a helpless imbecile child having also been under her constant care for forty years, receiving the most loving and tender attentions from her kind motherly hands. Her children are all yet living, except one son who died in youth. Mother Swigart was always a most industrious, devoted and exemplary woman seeking always to do good to those around her. Truly can it be recorded of her that hers was the life of a Christian and as such providence had lengthened her life of usefulness to almost 90 years. Few indeed attain this age. She united with the Lutheran church at Mt. Zion, near Lucas, at the age of 25 years (Rev. David Shew, pastor), being a faithful member while circumstances permitted her to attend."
