[5259] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cousin/html/p117.htm offers: "St. Guilhem de Gellone, comte de Toulouse was said by some to be of Frankish origin, others to be of the House of David. Per Stuart's RFC, some serious researchers claim that William of Gellone is identical with Isaac the Jew. Margrave of Septimania in Narbonne. He was per Catholic sources, 'His father's name was Theoderic, his mother's Aldana, and he was in some way connected with the family of Charles the Great, at whose court he was present as a youth.' His father's name was Theoderic, his mother's Aldana, and he was in some way connected with the family of Charles the Great (Charlemagne), at whose court he was present as a youth. He was the hero of the ninth-century 'Roman de Guillame au court nez'. Also called Wilhelm I 'Kurznase' von Toulouse. Also called St. William of Gellone. He married Kunigunde des Francs, daughter of Carloman, roi des Francs and Gerberge (?). He was born in 755. He was the son of Theodoric I of Septimania and Alda des Francs. He accompanied his 1st cousin, Charles, King of the Franks (Charlemagne), in his expedition against the Moors of Spain circa 778. He married Witberga (?); His 2nd. He married Kunigunde des Francs, daughter of Carloman, roi des Francs and Gerberge (?), before 779; His 1st. Marquis of Septimania in France, between 790 and 806. 2nd Count of Toulouse in Aquitaine, France, between 790 and 806. He was the actual field commander of a large force of Franks, Burgundians, Aquitanians, and Provençals that was assembled, supported by important contingents of Gascons under Duke Lupo and of Goths who were commanded by Bera, probably count of Roussillon, and though Louis the Pious officially headed the expedition, actual field command seems to have belonged to him, and this force crossed the Pyrenees and advanced south to capture the important city of Barcelona and the nearby castle of Tarrassa in 801. He was founder of a Benedictine monastery, since called S. Guilhem le Desert, in the valley of Gellone, near Lodeve in the Diocese of Maguelonne in 804. He became a monk at Gellone in 806.11 He retired as Count of Toulouse and Marquis of Septimania to become a monk in 806. Count of Gellon. He had retired to the shelter of the abbey of Gellone to end his days as a monk, and his statesmanship and military ability were lost to the Midi before 812. 'William is remembered as a member of Charlemagne's Court, and as a great (and successful) campaigner against the Muslims in Spain. Regarded as an exemplary and highly chivalrous knight, he is the subject of several early Chansons. He retired to the Benedictine monastery at Gellone, and was canonized in 1066. A muted version of his story also has it that he, like his father Makhir-Theodoric, remained faithful to his Jewish heritage which, if accurate, must surely set some sort of record as a Mediaeval Jewish saint.. He died between 28 May 812 and 21 May 815 in Gellone, France." Cf. http://members.pcug.org.au/~ronwells/10-19.htm and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_of_Gellone.

[47207] "History of Fairfield and Perry Counties" compiled by A. A. Graham (1883), pp. 332-333: "MILLER, ALEXANDER, farmer, Liberty township. He was born in Shenandoah county, Virginia, January 13, 1814; the son of Peter and Christiana (Hisey) Miller. He was educated in the common schools of Virginia. He remained with his parents and engaged in farming until he came to Ohio, in 1836. He located in Liberty township and began work at the carpenters' trade, of which he had acquired some knowledge before leaving his native State. In October, 1837, he was married, to Hester, daughter of John Bright. He settled the following year on the place where he still resides; it was then entirely wild, but has since been transformed into a fine improved farm, of two hundred and forty-nine acres, with modern and commodious farm buildings. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are the parents of thirteen children, of whom the following are living: Peter, living upon the family homestead; Harriet, the wife of Henry Smith, of Liberty township; Enoch F., who, also, resides on a part of the home place; Hannah, now Mrs. John Myers, of Indiana; Mary, the wife of Ezra Smith; John H., James P., Ellen and Caroline Augusta, still at home.
