[27322] http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cousin/html/p373.htm offers this line (not verified) and reports: "Albrecht I "der Bär", Markgraf von Brandenburg inherited Saxon estates between the Harz Mountains and the middle reaches of the Elbe River from his father, Otto the Rich in 1123. He served the Holy Roman emperor Lothair II in 1132 at Italy. He received, in return for his services, the North Mark, east of the junction of the Elbe and Havel rivers in 1134. He received, after his mother's death, the central German possessions of the Billung dynasty, but he was unsuccessful in his attempts to win the Saxon duchy in 1142. He was the first margrave of Brandenburg and founder of the Ascanian dynasties. He obtained, by an arrangement made with Pribislav, prince of the Havelland, that district after the prince's death in 1150. He died on 18 November 1170 at Kephissos."
