[2678] In 2008 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadwallon_Lawhir_ap_Einion offers: "According to tradition, Cadwallon ruled during, or shortly after, the Battle of Mons Badonicus, and King Arthur's victory over the Saxons (in either the the early 490s or the mid 510s). Cadwallon's name is not connected with the legendary battle, but he may have benefitted from the period of relative peace and prosperity throughout Britain that it procured. The most momentous military achievement of Cadwallon's reign was the final expulsion of Irish settlers on Anglesey, and the re-absorption of that island, which would later become the cultural and political base of the kingdom, into Gwynedd. Cadwallon's epithet, 'Lawhir', may possibly refer to him having longer than usual arms or might also be a metaphor, referring to the extent of his authority. The late medieval poet Iolo Goch claims that he could 'reach a stone from the ground to kill a raven, without bending his back, because his arm was as long as his side to the ground.' According to Gildas, Cadwallon's son, Maelgwn Gwynedd, murdered his uncle to ascend to the throne, which suggests that someone other than Maelgwn himself inherited the kingdom upon Cadwallon's death. No clear evidence exists as to who this "lost king" might be (assuming, of course, that Gildas's account is reliable), but some have suggested the name of Owain Ddantgwyn as the unfortunate heir/victim."
[7739] Henry built a large limestone home between Green Park and Loysville. In later life he was ordained a minister in the Churches of God, General Conference. [13195] Naomi m. on her 19th birthday in Litchfield Co., CT Amos Clark.
[25235] Family name also seen Sherzer or Shürger. Find A Grave memorial 44858415 offers: "Catharine was the daughter of a Mennonite preacher, born in Eisenbach, Zweibruecken. Catharine Shürger married Christian Blickensderfer on January 7, 1748. They moved to Nieder Saulheim where they resided several years. She traveled with her husband and brother-in-law, Jost, and two children on the ship "Rowand." They came first to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where a week after arriving gave birth to her third child, Christian. They lived for 1½ years in Phila. and then moved to a farm near Lititz. In 1761, Christian built a house in the village (69 Main Street, Lititz) and moved his family into it. By this time she had already suffered the loss of four children. She was a woman of more than ordinary strength of mind and ability, exercising great influence in the forming of a substantial and solid character in her children, all of whom became persons of influence in the communities in which they dwelt. She was a sincere and active Christian, the family connecting themselves with the Moravian church immediately after they arrived in America, first at Philadelphia and then Lititz. Catharina died of the epidemic "camp fever" while helping during the American Revolution. Her son, Jacob, died of this epidemic a week before she died. Of her nine children two sons (Matthew & Christian) and a daughter (Catherine) survived her."
