[6509] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 11 June 2022": "Dedham - It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Charles Norman Gray, 72, of Dedham, Maine at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bangor, Maine on June 1, 2022. This kind, gentle man was born to Norman W. and Annie L. (Dunbar) Gray of Orland on January 9, 1950, patiently waiting as the three made a harrowing journey to Castine Hospital in a blizzard. It is with his usual dignity he made his final journey, after enduring increasingly debilitating symptoms that had began in 2021. A mysterious onslaught of health ailments became a diagnosis of Progressive Bulbar Palsy, a form of ALS, earlier this year. Charlie resided on the Happytown Road in Orland, before the family moved to the Upper Falls Road, being nearer to extended family and friends. Although life was often hard, Charlie immersed himself in a thirst for knowledge, gravitating toward astronomy and other sciences. The early loss of his mother to MS in 1965 generated another move to Orrington, where he met new life long friends. He completed his GED and became a certified boiler technician. Charlie was an accomplished self taught guitarist and long time fixture on the local music scene. He worked as a self-employed contractor and helped to beautify many homes with his skill and knowledge. He was a mentor to all. Charlie is survived by his three children: Charles Sacobie, Christian Belanger and Alana Gray; one granddaughter, Stephanie Sacobie; also by 3 nieces and 3 nephews and their loved ones; and many cousins. Charlie had withstood the loss of his parents; 1 nephew; and all his siblings, twins, Elizabeth 'Betty' Shirland and Robert (Bob) Gray, younger brother, Samuel 'Sam' and sister, Emma 'Emmy' Gray. He leaves behind his dearest friend and soul mate, Brenda Hincks, who stood beside him through thick and thin; quietly dancing and laughing to the music they loved."

[42012] Find A Grave Memorial 35604760 offers: "Frances was barely three years old when she left Kentucky with her parents, Robert and Nancy (Thompson) Price, and family to settle in Spring Creek, Nebraska in 1854/5. It isn't hard to imagine the excitement of each new wonder she encountered along the trail. The harsh reality of being a pioneer took a devastating turn for young Frances when she lost both her father, Robert, and brother, Stephen, in a snow storm. Growing up she would surely have known the strength of her mother who filed and proved up a homestead after her father died. Her step-father, Robert Smart, brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews all filled her childhood home. With the exception of two years spent in Otoe County, Frances spent more than fifty years in Johnson County, living in Spring Creek, Smartville (now St. Mary), Sterling and Tecumseh. Frances and David married in 1871. Together they raised four children-two sons and two daughters. Frances was the last of her siblings to survive." Ancestry.com offers: "Price Name Meaning - Welsh: Anglicized form of Welsh ap Rhys 'son of Rhys' (see Reece). This is one of the commonest of Welsh surnames. It has also been established in Ireland since the 14th century, where it is sometimes a variant of Bryson. English: the name is also found very early in parts of England far removed from Welsh influence (e.g. Richard Prys, Essex 1320), and in such cases presumably derives from Middle English, Old French pris 'price', 'prize', perhaps as a metonymic occupational name for a fixer of prices."
