"The Selinsgrove Times-Tribune [Selinsgrove, PA], 1 April 1948," p. 8: "Funeral services will be held Saturday for William E. Aucker, 84, who died yesterday morning of a heart condition at the home of his son, Frank Aucker, of North Eighth street. Prayer services will be held from the Aucker home at 1:30 P. M., and continued in the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Verdilla. The Rev. H. G. Snyder, pastor of the Freeburg Evangelical and Reformed Charge, will officiate, and interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church. Born in Union township August 18, 1863, Mr. Aucker was the son of Peter and Catherine Aucker. He and the former Mary Elizabeth Riegel were married in 1891. Mrs. Aucker preceded him in death 11 years ago. Mr. Aucker resided for most of his life in Union township, and after the death of Mrs. Aucker, made his home with his sons. He was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church at Verdilla for 65 years, and was an active farmer thruout his life. He is survived by two sons, Frank Aucker, at whose home he died, and George A. Aucker, of R. R., Port Trevorton; a brother, J. Irvin Aucker, of Port Trevorton; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death 24 years ago."

[20587] Thomas m. ca. 1640 Phebe Gould, daughter of Zaccheus Gould of Topsfield, MA - she was b. in 1620 in England, and baptised at Hemel Hempsted 20 Sept 1620. Her father gave them 150 acres of land as a wedding present. Thomas was Deacon of the Topsfield Church and selectman. He and Phebe had nine children, listed in Perkins' "The Family of John Perkins of Ipswich, Mass." (1889). "The Great Migration Begins," R. C. Anderson (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 1999), 3:1432 reports that Thomas was baptised in 1623.
