[2804] "Akron Beacon Journal, 10 March 2010": "Gloria D. Horning, 79, of Kent, died Sunday, at Woodlands at Robinson Ravenna. As the Cleveland Indians embark on a new season, we too enter a different season without our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surrounded by her family, we lovingly said goodbye on March 7, 2010. Gloria devoted her life to her family. After raising her children, she delighted in welcoming each grandchild that helped grow her family. She and Jim enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Summers spent camping were a favorite pastime as were winters in Florida anxiously awaiting spring training. Gloria was devoted to the Eastern Star Olive Chapter #53 for over 60 years. She is survived by husband, Jim; children, Brian (Sharon), Greg (Melanie), Kim (Dave) Yost, Melanie (Jeff) Adams and Matthew (Mary Lou); grandchildren, Kate, Annie, Andrew, Marissa, Nick, Stephanie (Shaun), Amanda (Steven), Alex, Renee, Jaret, Derek and Brandon; precious great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mia and Johnny; sister, Marilyn Barnett of Key West, Fla. Gloria is also survived by many dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hazel (Souers) Briner; and son, Jeffrey."
