[24801] Shown as child of Hugh and Ermentrude by Paul B McBride - http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~pmcbride/james/f019.htm - who offers: "Geva Lupus, married Geoffrey Ridel. The legitimacy of this lady is in question, according to Burke, but is maintained from the circumstances of her father having bestowed upon her the manor of Drayton, in free marriage, which the lawyers say could not be granted to a bastard; however, had she been legitimate, she would have surely succeeded to the earldom before her aunt. Geva and Geoffrey had an only daughter, Maud Ridel."
[31159] Ancestry.com offers: "Palmer Name Meaning - English: from Middle English, Old French palmer, paumer (from palme, paume 'palm tree', Latin palma), a nickname for someone who had been on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Such pilgrims generally brought back a palm branch as proof that they had actually made the journey, but there was a vigorous trade in false souvenirs, and the term also came to be applied to a cleric who sold indulgences."
