He was a World War I veteran, a member of the 103rd U.S. Infantry Veterans Association of World War I, a member and past deacon of the Essex Street Baptist Church in Bangor. He is survived by his wife, Edna Tibbetts Black of Brewer; one daughter, Mrs. Philmore (Irene) Willey of Brewer; two sons, Maurice of South Portlond and Lloyd of Brewer; one brother, William Black of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews."

There is some doubt as to Vanbertus being father of Gertrudis, too - the whole line seems fuzzy to me - AEM, 2/89. Cf. http://home.wxs.nl/~voort359/home3alsac.html. which states "Ansbertus was possibly a Gallo-Roman Senator in the Narbonne region in the far south of France.
