"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 27 October 2008: "Bangor - Margaret Cleaves Theriault, 93, passed away peacefully Oct. 25, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Feb. 11, 1915, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Richard and Nellie (Robertson) McLennan. She graduated from Fort Kent High School in 1933 and received her teaching degree from Fort Kent Normal School, now the University of Maine -Fort Kent. While living in Fort Kent she met Frank Cleaves, whom she married in 1939. She moved to Addison with him. While in Addison she became a member and past matron of Order of the Easter Star, Wiscogus Chapter No. 101. Margaret moved to Holden in 1957 and attended Holden Congregational Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking, knitting mittens for her grandchildren and reading. Margaret was a very positive person, who always had an optimistic outlook on life. She is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Boober and her husband, James, of Spring Hill, Fla., and Mary R. Young and her husband, David, of Veazie; daughter-in-law, Gertrude Cleaves of Addison; sister-in-law, Helen McLennan of Presque Isle; granddaughters, Erika M. Cleaves-Schoppe of Cherryfield and Heather A. Friedman of Veazie; grandsons, J. Allan Boober of Brewer, Gregory R. Boober of Spring Hill, Fla., and William R. Cleaves Jr. of Columbia Falls; eight stepgrandchildren, C. Kenneth Giger, Raymond Giger, Carmen Snyder, Jacqueline Newingham, Ramona Dorr, Pamela Huntington, Donna Stanwood and Tina Seeley; eight great-grandchildren, several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Frank D. Cleaves in 1971 and Theodore Theriault in 1987; her son, William R. Cleaves; her sister, Mary Parsons; and her brother, Richard McLennan. Margaret's family thanks Community Health and Counseling Services Hospice Program staff and volunteers for all their support and comfort for her and her family, as well as the staff of Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all their care. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Church Hill Cemetery, Addison . . ."

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator on construction until retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Ransom Roman Catholic Church, Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward Andrusko. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, the former Virginia DeBattista; a son, Joseph, Philadelphia; two daughters, Kimberly LaMaina and Lisa LaMaina, both of Philadelphia; two sisters, Gloria Dutcavich, Minersville, and Gerri Ann Walker, Rochester Hills, five grandchildren; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Ransom Church. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia." David is in the household of his grandmother, Anna Supinski in the 1940 federal census.

[51156] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 22 April 2014": "Steuben - Thurston E. Pinkham, 82, went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2014, at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. Thurston was born July 13, 1931, in Steuben, to Floyd and Ella (Strout) Pinkham and attended school in Steuben. Thurston served in the U.S. Navy from July 1948 to June 1953, receiving the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal, and was assigned to the USS Wisconsin. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as an airman third class from March 1954 to November 1957, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Korean Service Medal. Upon being honorably discharged from the military, Thurston returned home to Steuben. He worked at a variety of jobs over the next 57 years, including construction for E.L. Shea and at the Cutler Naval Station, boat building at Hinckleys, fabrication at Kelco Industries and maintenance for Sumner High School. Throughout this time he always came back to his roots on the ocean. He loved lobster and weir fishing and as late as last summer could be occasionally seen aboard the boat with his son, John. Thurston is survived by his wife of 59 years, Harriet (Stanwood); two sons, Elwood 'Bimbo' Pinkham and wife, Joan, and John Pinkham; one daughter, Adeline Kinghorn and husband, Steve, all of Steuben; grandchildren, Stephen Kinghorn and partner, Angela, of Franklin; Benjamin Kinghorn, Amber Pinkham, Jody Leighton and her husband, Joseph, all of Steuben; four granddaughters whom he adored, Mariah, Kaytlin, Anna and Kelly, all of Steuben. He is also survived by sisters, Jeannie Dow and Vangie McLain; brother, Richard 'Dickey' Pinkham; brother-in-law, Herbert Huckins; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Ella (Strout) Pinkham; sister, Loretta 'Pep' Huckins; brothers-in-law, Arnold Dow and Darwood McLain. The joys of Thurstons life included being with his family; working on the water and talking on his VH radio, where he carried the handle 'Milkman'; giving to others; puttering around the yard; tinkering on his cars, trucks and anything mechanical; going on rides to look out over the ocean or watch the deer; and taking care of various animals that found their way to his door. He was always there for any of his family or friends. He has been a selfless and loving caregiver and companion to his wife during her illness during the last several years."
