She was born at Great Pond, Maine July 25, 1909, the daughter of Albert B. and Nellie G. (Williams) Haynes. Miss Haynes was a longtime Bangor resident and was a retired teacher, having taught in the Bangor school system for 41 years. She graduated from Bangor High School, Castine Normal School and Gorham Teachers College. She was a member of the Penobscot, Maine and National Retired Teachers Associations. Miss Haynes was a violinist with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and was a longtime member of Columbia Street Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed the outdoors and spent many memorable summers at her family's sporting camp, 'Buckhorn Camps', on Middle Jo Mary Lake, Survivors include a brother-in-law, Baxter Moore of Woolwich; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth 'Elsie' Haynes of Millinocket; five nieces, Betsy and husband Ralph Esancy of South China, Lucy and husband Hank Carey of South Thomaston, Mary and husband Ted Holmes of Portland, Juliet Maloney of Springboro, Ohio, Virginia MacDonald of Hull, Mass.; two nephews, Jasper 'Sandy' and wife Sheila Haynes of Millinocket, Albert Moore of Memphis, Tenn.; several grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, three cousins, Marjorie Baker of Chemo Pond, Isabelle Bracy of Bangor, Hester Crosby Watson of East Longmeadow. Mass. She was predeceased by a sister, Winifred Moore, and a brother, Jasper Haynes. Private interment will be in the family cemetery at Great Pond later in the spring."

Elizabeth Oldenburg (Oldenbrook) was born on August 12, 1773, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the child of Daniel Frederick Augustus and Mary Elizabeth . She married Alexander McAllister in May 1797 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. . . . She died on April 20, 1853, in Burlington, Iowa, having lived a long life of 79 years, and was buried in Des Moines County, Iowa."

John Norton, founding pastor of Old Ship Church in Hingham, Massachusetts, and nephew of John Norton (1606-1663), Puritan divine, and one of the first authors in the United States of America. Elizabeth Quincy was Abigail Smith Adams' grandmother, one of the greatest heroines of the American Revolution.
