'Bud' Grindle in 1982; 2 two stepchildren, La Vaughn Luce and Erroll Grindle, in the early 1940s. she was tax collector and town treasurer for the town of Penobscot. She was a member of the Penobscot United Methodist Church, the Ladies Aide Society, where she held the position of treasurer for many years, and a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 107 of Penobscot. Adelene is survived by her son and his wife, Millard and Marjorie Wardwell of Penobscot; a daughter and her husband, Marilyn and Robert Tapley of Penobscot; seven grandchildren, Sylvia Tapley of Buxton, Robert Tapley and his wife, Kole, of South Blue Hill, Joseph Tapley and his wife, Christina, of Littleton, Colo., David Wardwell and his wife, Barbara, of Penobscot, Peter Wardwell and his wife, Vickie, of Orland, Toby Wardwell and his wife, Donna, of Penobscot, Tamatha Wardwell of Penobscot; 10 greatgrandchildren; one stepson, John Grindle of Belle Mead, N.J.; six stepgrandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; one sister, Dorothy A, Webster of Orland; one brother, Oakley F.
