Born in Fort Kent on May 16, 1943, to Frank and Margaret (McLennan) Cleaves, she grew up in Addison and Machias before moving to Holden in her teens, where she graduated from Brewer High School in 1961. Donna was predeceased by her brother, William Cleaves of Addison, and is survived by her sister, Mary Ruth Young of Veazie. In 1961 she married the love her life, James M. Boober, and they enjoyed 61 years together. They had two sons: Allan Boober and his wife, Dee Boober, of Brewer; and Gregory Boober and his wife, Julie McSorley-Boober, of Newport. She adored her grandchildren, Justin, Casey, Katherine, Robin, Samantha, Hillary and Rachel. She also had seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Maisie, Maddox, Esmie, Nevaeh, Arlo and Maya; as well as nieces and nephews, Heather, Michelle, Renee, Jenny, Laura, Elizabeth, William, Erika, Jill and Patricia. Donna also had a dear lifelong friend, Earlene Bryant. She attended St. Joseph School of Nursing as well as classes at the University of Maine. Donna worked at The Elizabeth Levinson Center as a nurse and eventually as Director of Social Services, retiring after 25 years. Her joys were sewing, knitting, her dogs, making Whoopie Pies for her grandchildren and sailing along the Maine coast with her family aboard their sailboat the 'Justin Time.'"

He worked in the copper and coal mines, was a logger, caretaker, worked for Maine Maritime Academy as security and SODEXO. He was president of the Lakeview Cemetery Association for many years. He was a past member of the Blue Hill Gun Club and a member of the Oddfellows. Along with being Brooksville Barber for 48 years, he was responsible for the Alewives Run in Brooksville for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Sherrianne Gerow Closson; a daughter, Melody Parlin and her husband, Carl, of Penobscot; two granddaughters, Megan Millett of Bucksport, and Morgan Millett of Penobscot; three great-grandchildren, Connor, Harmony and Makenzie. He is also survived by his brother John Closson and his wife, Linda, of Brooksville; his sister Jane Hale and her husband, Donald, of Sargentville; his sister Ilean ORourke of Maryland, and his sister Patty Black of Deer Isle. Richard is also survived by his brother-in-law Herbie Gerow Jr., and his wife, Bonnie, of Bucksport, and a sister-in-law Coralee Brackett, and her husband, Paul, of Springfield; as well as many loved nieces and nephews. She married 11 September 1645, Samuel Hicks, who came over to Plymouth with his mother, younger brother and sisters, in the Ann, in 1623. His father, Robert Hicks, came in the Fortune in 1621. Lydia and her husband had probably seven children, four of whom we have been able to trace." The Doane genealogy gives her death date as 8 July 1665, but this must be too early (see last child's birthdate).

Shorman Clark, 86, of 302 North Main, Greene, were held Wednesday, May 28, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greene with Pastor Paul Uzel officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene. Reid¹s Funeral Chapel of Greene is in charge of arrangements. Myrtle Mae Heichel was born March 9, 1917, at rural Washburn, Black Hawk County, a daughter of Freace and Dagmar (Rasmussen) Heichel, and died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at the Liebe Care Center in Greene. She received her education in the Cedar Falls Public Schools and was united in marriage to George Shorman on September 30, 1934, in Princeton, MO. They made their home in Cedar Falls where they owned and operated a Texaco Service Station. In 1945 they moved to Greene where they purchased the Greene Cafe, which they operated until 1949, when they acquired Price's Grocery Store and made it into a restaurant and bar which was called Shorman's Place. In 1955 they purchased the Sportsman's Inn from Max Kent. Following Mr. Shorman's death on November 21, 1961, she continued to operate the business until 1964. On July 10, 1964, she was united in marriage to Wilson Eldon Clark at her home in Greene. They moved to Northern Wisconsin where they purchased the Chit Chat Resort in Birchwood which they operated until 1973 when they retired to a forty acre farm near Couderay, WI. In 1990 they returned to Greene. Following Mr. Clark's death on February 16, 1992, she continued to make her home in Greene until entering the Liebe Care Center on June 26, 2001. Myrtle will be remembered as a helpful, caring, and giving individual in her vocations as wife, mother, and business owner. Many will attest to those home cooked meals, desserts, and genuine hospitality to those she served. Her interests included deer hunting, fishing, gardening, and crafts. She also enjoyed bowling. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those thankful for having shared her life include her daughter whom she lovingly called her 'Doll'; Virginia (Stan) Shook of Greene; four grandchildren: Janelle (Jeffrey) Laube, Randal (Sheila) Shook all of Eau Claire, WI, Steven (Kimberly) Shook of Plymouth, MN, Linda Miner of New Brighton, MN; ten grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jenna, Mikaelah, Benjamin, Sarah, Joseph, John, Ryan, Conor, and Lee; one brother Glade Heichel of Greene and one sister-in-law: Inez Heichel of Waterloo. She leaves to join her husbands, her parents, four brothers: Hershel, Freace "Pete", Russell, and John Heichel; four sisters: Gladys Morgan, Jane Rogers, Norma Gutknecht, and Mary Brown."
