(Hiser), was a U.S. Navy veteran and graduated from the Ohio State University Architectural program. Bill was a professional architect and designed many local schools, churches and public buildings which are still used today. He was raised in and helped build the Arlington Memorial Baptist Church and later in life, was active at the Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Christin William Lay; grandsons, Lawrence Damon Lay and Scottie Neal Ewing; and sister, Ruth Andrews. He is survived by his children, C. Martin (Chia), Lawrence G. and Lisa M. Ewing; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and close friends, Rick and Ann McClure."
