English, 92, of 305 Second St., Legion Acres, Pine Grove, died Sunday in the Broad Mountain Nursing Home, Frackville. A native and long time highly respected resident of Donaldson, he was a son of the late Thomas and Anna Morgan English. He was a retired miner. Mr. English was the oldest member of Salem United Church of Christ, Donaldson. His wife, the former Elsie Moyer died in April 1958, and a daughter, Pauline G. English, died in December 1964. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Bernd, with whom he made his home in Pine Grove; two grandsons, Lt. Col. David Bernd, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Lt. Col. Ronald Bernd, Rome, N.Y.; and five great-grandchildren. His funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, with services in the Snyder Funeral Home conducted by his pastor, the Rev. George B. Carvell of Tremont. Interment was in the Reformed Church Cemetery, Tremont."

She was born here Oct. 11, 1864, the daughter of the late Capt. Jason D. and Mary E. (Drisko) Leighton and attended the public schools here. In 1887 she married A. Lincoln Wallace of this town. Mrs. Wallace spent most of her life here and for 12 years was employed at the local post office when her husband was postmaster. She was a charter member of Alcyone chapter No. 71, O.E.S., Pythian Sisters, and the Ladies' Church Aid society. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Vernon K. Brackett, Canton, Mass., Mrs. Chester B. Dorr, East Gardner, Mass. and Mrs. Harry E Freeman Milbridge; a son, Jason D. Wallace; a sister, Mrs. Carrie C. Swanton, all of Milbridge; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews."
